My Journey Started Here
I grew up on a dusty village road, where everyone knew everyone, and the idea of "marketing" lived in how kindly your neighbor spoke about your fruit stall. The first time I heard the term "boutique hotel," I thought it was a fashion brand.
In 2015, I left that village with a suitcase and uncertainty, enrolling at the National Hotel & Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI) in Dhaka. I didn't know how to pronounce "reservation," but I learned. I didn't know where my future was going, but I kept walking.
I interned at a luxury hotel in Cox's Bazar, and by the end of it, I was offered a full-time role. Within months, I was named Employee of the Year, 2017. Then, in one second, it all stopped.
11,000 volts of electric shock. Third-degree burns. Four fingers lost. 6.5 months in a burn unit.
But what remained was this one finger—and a fire inside me far stronger than electricity.
